Rabat – Police in Khemisset have arrested two young men suspected of carrying out a break-in at a local money transfer agency, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
The arrests took place around midday, after investigators from the provincial security service tracked down the suspects, aged 22 and 26.
One of them has a previous record linked to drug-related offenses.
According to investigators, the burglary occurred earlier this week under the cover of darkness.
The suspects allegedly forced their way into the agency’s premises during the night and left with a sum of cash. The exact amount has not been disclosed.
Police launched an inquiry immediately after the break-in came to light. Their arrest shows a coordinated effort to prevent similar crimes.
The two men remain in custody as the investigation continues under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
Authorities are looking to establish the full sequence of events and determine whether others may have played a role in the crime.
The case is moving forward through the judicial process, as investigators work to find out the motives behind the burglary and assess the total impact on the agency.
